Lieutenant Colonel Sawai Bhawani Singh Who Expunged the Enemy from Indian Soil

Lieutenant Colonel Sawai Bhawani Singh, was commanding a battalion of the Parachute Regiment (10 PARA.SF). He ventured deep into the territory of the enemy and for four days made skillful and relentless raids on the strongly held enemy posts. His inspired leadership and personal courage led to the capture of large areas of the enemy territory and created panic and confusion among the enemy, forcing them to retreat leaving large number of prisoners and equipment. He was awarded Mahavir Chakra for his bravery.
