Second Lieutenant Rakesh Singh A Knight Who Killed Five Fleeing Afgani Terrorists

Second Lieutenant Rakesh Singh as Officiating Company Commander was assigned the task of cutting off the escape routes of eight fleeing Afghan Mujahideen. In order to complete the task assigned to him, Singh aggressively attacked the fleeing terrorists and single-handedly killed five of the retreating Afghan terrorists. In this operation he was wounded profusely and succumbed to the injuries. He was awarded Ashok Chakra for his determination, courage and valour.
