The former finance Minister of Jammu & Kashmir left Peoples Democratic Party on Thursday. In his resignation letter, addressed to the Party President Mehbooba Mufti, he wrote "It has been exactly four and a half years since I joined the J&K PDP. I may not have enjoyed every moment of it, but when I look back at it, it has been an enriching and enlightening association. In this one page long letter he also mentioned “As such, in this brief period, I got a flavor of politics in all its fascinating mélange ranging from conviction, compulsion and compromise to principles, pledges and pertifides”. He wrote “Even though I have not been a dissident — you are aware I had resigned from the cabinet, assembly and party nearly two years ago which you didn’t accept — I have disengaged from the party affairs for quite some time now,”. Drabu was upset with the party leadership ever since he was shown the door by then Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and removed from the Finance ministry in a cabinet reshuffle in May this year.

So far, two law makers of PDP – Imran Raza Ansari and Abid Hussain Ansari - have resigned from the party while party leader Yasir Reshi has also openly rebelled against the party.
