Army Day is commended on 15 January every year consistently in India, in acknowledgment of Field Marshal Kodandera M. Cariappa's assuming control as the main Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army from General Sir Francis Butcher, the last British Commander-in-Chief of India, on 15 January 1949. This day is celebrated at the headquarters of the Army Command and Delhi in order to pay reverence to the brave heroes of the nation who sacrificed their lives to protect sovereignty and ensuring peace. On this day, tribute is paid to the martyrs of Indian Army at the Amar Jawan Jyoti, India Gate, New Delhi. Also, army parades and military shows are organized at different locations across the country. The forces put on display the tanks, missiles, carriers, modern arms and weapons possessed by the Indian Army. The day recognizes the unparallel contribution of the Indian soldiers by honoring them with bravery awards, including Vishist Seva medals, Sena Medals and unit credentials. The celebration also entails the pledge service by the soldiers of the Indian army, who vow to maintain the integrity and pride of the nation. On 15 January 2019, India commended its 71st Indian Army Day in New Delhi. Armed force Day denotes a day to salute the valiant officers who yielded their lives to secure the nation and its subjects. Cariappa was the first Indian Officer who was passed on the command of a unit in 1942.
 
 
 
Indian Army gives encouragement to youth and children to serve the nation. Though many wish to serve the country but not all get the chance to serve the country by entering into the armed forces. The training and life of an armyman is not easy, as he has to stay away from the comfortable life, at the border and provide security to the nation.
