After which he was immediately admitted to the hospital for treatment, where he died during the treatment. The security forces have started search operation in the area. On December 29 last year, four terrorists were killed in a seven-hour-long gunfight with security forces in the same village. SPO is an honorary arrangement, which is followed in armed insurgency states and their services are reviewed from time to time. J&K has an estimated strength of around 30,000 SPOs in the state. Weapons are provided to only those SPOs who are involved in counter-insurgency operations. In 2018, many SPOs working with the state police have received death threats from terrorists. Though death threats looms large on the SPO yet many of them are courageous and still continuing their duty as SPOs.
