A team of Election Commission of India will visit Jammu and Kashmir to take stock of the situation in Jammu and Kashmir for holding election in the state and accordingly dates for the election will be announced. The state is presently under President rule. Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sunil Arora on Friday said the commission will hold a meeting with officials of Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and then visit the state to decide on holding simultaneous state assembly and Lok Sabha elections. Arora said, “Next week, or eight-10 days later, we will hold another meeting with the MHA and the commission will itself visit the state to take stock of the situation and then it will be able to give a conclusive answer on this”.
