NIA conducts raids in houses of Jaish terrorists, OGWs and separatists

National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids in the houses of the two Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists, the Over Ground Workers (OWGs) and separatists on Wednesday. The raids were conducted in 11 different locations in South Kashmir. NIA has also conducted raids at the houses of senior separatist leaders on Tuesday. The raids of NIA are conducted in the wake of Pulwama attack, in which a suicide bomber of proscribed terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad rammed his explosive-laden car into the convoy of CRPF soldiers. 49 CRPF soldiers lost their lives in this ghastly attack.
 
 
NIA raids in the houses of Jaish terrorists Mudassir Ahmad Khan and Sajjad Bhat
 
The raids were conducted in the houses of Mudassir Ahmad Khan and Sajjad Bhat, the two Jaish terrorists, who were involved in February 14, Pulwama attack. According to the sources, Mudassir Ahmad Khan is the senior Jaish member, who has closely worked with Kamran and Ghazi Ahmed to plan and execute the Pulwama attack. On the other hand, Sajjad Bhat is the resident of Brijbehara in Anantnag and he arranged the car that was used by the suicide bomber on February 14.

 
 
Houses of separatists were raided
 
NIA also conducted raids in the house of separatist leaders from South Kashmir viz. Mohammed Shaban Dar, Shawkat Maulvi, and Yasmine Raza. Apart from this, houses of Yasin Malik, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Shabir Shah, Masrat Alam, Jafar Akbar Bhat and Nasim Geelani, son of Syed Ali Shah Geelani were also raided by NIA on Tuesday. The raids were conducted in connection with the terror funding case. The agency said "high-tech internet communication setup" from the residence of Mirwaiz Umer Farooq is also recovered by it.

Searches were also conducted in the houses of active OGWs of Jaish in Tral, Awantipora and Pulwama areas of South Kashmir.
 
 
The team of NIA recovered incriminating documents like Jihadi literature, documents related to terror funding, coded messages, property details, documents relating to financial and monetary transactions, electronic devices, mobile phones, sim cards etc. in the raids. NIA has intensified its crackdown on terror operatives as well as instigators (separatists) in Jammu and Kashmir since the February 14 Pulwama attack.
