Almost all the 714 polling booths of Anantnag Lok Sabha constituency are kept under the critical category by the election commission of India. It is perhaps for the first time that any constituency is kept under this category. This constituency is problematic. Because of terrorism, the bye-polls were not conducted in this constituency in 2016 and this seat has remained vacant since then.

 

 

The election on this seat in 2019 will be completed in three phases i.e. April 23 & 29 and May 6. The sufficient number of security forces personnel will be deployed on each polling booth and the security forces will do the flag march in the constituency to instill confidence among people.
