India boycott Pak National Day Event in Delhi, separatists will be arrested if they come for the event
   22-Mar-2019

In another attempt to exacerbate the already deteriorating relation between India and Pakistan, the Pakistan High Commission in India invited separatists on Pakistan National Day. This move of Pakistan clearly unveils its double face on peace, as it has invited the anti-India forces and that too amid the strained India and Pakistan relationships.

Government of India has clarified that the presence of separatists in this event would not be acceptable to it and it said, ‘all Hurriyat separatists who participate in Pakistan National Day function this evening in New Delhi will be arrested as a new policy decision by the Govt.’

India is boycotting Pakistan Day over Pakistan’s invitation to separatists

Pakistan High Commission has invited 30 Hurriyat leaders for the event. India has taken this invite as meddling in the internal affairs of India and the Government of India has decided not to send any of its representatives for the event.

Less likely that any separatist leader would attend the event

There is less possibility of any separatist leader would attend the event, as most of them are either in jail or under house arrest after a major crackdown by the government last month. With the government’s toughening its stand on anti-Indian forces, those separatists who are not in Jail fear that they may be arrested or face the crackdown. The big separatist leaders like Mirwaiz Umar, Professor Ghani, Moulana Abbass; Engineer Hilal War, Bilal Lone, Fazal Haqq Qureshi, Mukhtar Waza etc. are apprehensive to attend the event because of the Government of India’s (GoI) tough stand on separatism and terrorism.

Pulwama attack and India’s tough policy on terrorism and separatism

India is taking a tough stand since Pakistan based proscribed terror organization Jaish-e-Mohammad attacked India. The India and Pakistan relation went to a new low in the aftermath of Pulwama attack, in which more than 40 CRPF soldiers were martyred. The responsibility of this ghastly attack was taken by Pakistan based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammad. India took avenge of this cowardly attack on February 26, when its fighter jet Mirage 2000 blew up the terrorist camps in Pakistan and its illegally occupied territory.
