No civilian traffic will be allowed to ply on Srinagar-Jammu national highway today because of the movement of security forces convoy. Jammu and Kashmir Traffic police department has issued an advisory in this regard. “No movement of any kind of public vehicle shall be allowed from Udhampur towards Srinagar and vice versa,” mentions the advisory.

 

 

Government has already informed in the month of April that the movement of civilians on the highway, would be restricted when the convoy of security forces would be on the move. The advisory has said that since there is a large movement of security forces during parliamentary election and possibility of fidayeen attack on forces’ convoys, the State Government has notified specified days in a week for the movement of forces from Srinagar to Jammu. The movement of civilians will be restricted in these days.
