2nd BRI summit: China accepts that the entire J&K and Arunachal Pradesh are parts of India
   26-Apr-2019

In a surprise move, China showed the entire State of Jammu and Kashmir (including POJK) and Arunachal Pradesh belong to India. As the second edition of Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), Summit is underway, China has set right its map of India. The map of India with BRI routes shows that the entire state of J&K and Arunachal Pradesh are part of India. China has curiously shown India as a part of BRI though India has boycotted it for the second time. The map was shown on the occasion of 3 days BRI summit. India had boycotted the first BRI summit in 2017. BRI summit has the presence of 37 nations.

Previous maps of J&K issued by China showed part of the state under Pakistan, what is Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK). Sources indicated that such faux pas, if at all, is a rare occurrence in China’s official publications and websites. Experts on Sino-Indian affairs are trying to ascertain if it is a deliberate tactical move by China to placate India. Last November, China’s state-run media (CGTN television) excluded PoK from the map of Pakistan while reporting a terror attack on the Chinese consulate in Karachi.
