In a big diplomatic victory of India, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has designated Masood Azhar as a global terrorist. The UNSC 1267 Sanction Committee today put terrorist Masood Azhar on ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaeda Sanction list. The all-weather friend of Pakistan, China has also not put any technical halt this time.

 

 

 

 

• Pakistan is now bound to close down terrorist camps and Madrasas run by Masood Azhar.

 

• Azhar’s entry in any country would be completely banned.

 

• He would not be able to do any financial transactions in any country.

 

• All the member countries of the UN will have to freeze the bank account and properties of Azhar.

 

• Masood Azhar and the people associated with his organization will not get any support in the world.

 

• Pakistan would be compelled to put economic sanction on Masood Azhar.

 

 

 

 

 

In an official statement, France has welcomed the listing of Masood Azhar as a global terrorist. Though the country has already banned the terrorist on March 15 yet the UNSC has not done so till today. France, US, and Britain moved the resolution for the listing of Masood Azhar on earlier occasions as well but China, another permanent member of UNSC used his veto power. But after the Pulwama attack, China faced flak, for shielding a terrorist, globally. Hence, it was forced to take decisive action on the terrorist Masood Azhar.

 

 

 

 

Now, Pakistan is bound to take action on Masood Azhar and it will arrest Azhar at the earliest. Even the spokesperson of Pakistan mentioned the same in his speech. Though in the speech Pakistan agreed to comply with the order but it did not miss the chance to spewing venom against India. Now, the Pakistan stand exposed at the international landscape and it has no choice but to act against terrorist Masood Azhar.
