Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar justified his ‘Neech Aadmi’ comment, which he mentioned in an article that he wrote for Rising Kashmir. In this article, he called himself ‘prophetic’ for having called PM Narendra Modi ‘neech kisam ka aadmi’ (a derogatory casteist slur) in December 2017. While playing the victim card, Aiyar said, he is a victim of the media which has caused him significant damage. He even accused the media of picking and choosing only part of his article instead of his entire article criticising Modi.

Aiyar said, “A statement has already come from my side. There is an entire article. You are choosing a line from the article and asking me to comment on it. I will not fall into your trap. I may be a fool, but not that big a fool”.

It is not the first that Aiyar has kicked off a controversy. Earlier, he found shaming India in Pakistan, where he hailed Mohammad Ali Jinnah for his role in the freedom movement and defended him for his role in the partition of India. He even sought Pakistan’s support to remove Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government in India and installation of Congress to the power.
