Two terrorists were eliminated by the security forces in Pulwama early this morning. Both the killed terrorists were of proscribed terrorist organization Hizbul Mujahideen. One of the terrorists has been identified as Showkat Ahmed and the identity of the second terrorist is ascertained. Showkat Ahmed was active in the valley for the last four years and AK 56 was recovered from him.

 

 

The encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces at around 2:10 am in Pulwama's Panzam. Troops of the Central Reserve Police Force, Rashtriya Rifles and Special Operations Group were involved in the encounter.

 

Two simultaneous encounters between security forces and terrorist were underway in Panzgaam of Pulwama and Dehruna area of Anantnag in South Kashmir since early morning.
