GDC Kathua lecturer Nazir Sheikh booked for promoting communal violence

The Kistwar police have booked a contractual college lecturer, Nazir Sheikh, posted in Govt. Degree College (GDC) Kathua for posting objectional comments with the communal overture on social media, which had the potential of flaring-up communal tensions. His comments were directly targeted at Hindu, wherein he warned the Hindu community to not to support BJP and mess with Muslims otherwise they would be killed like Parihar Brothers, who were killed by suspected terrorists last year in Kishtwar, Jammu.
 
A contractual lecturer at Government Degree College, Kathua, Nazir Sheikh belongs to Kulgam district. He is booked by the Kishtwar police under Sections 505 and 66 of the Information Technology Act for making a provocative statement on Facebook while reacting to the recent killings in Kishtwar district.
 
The students of GDC Kathua have warned that they would intensify the protest if the government did not take strict legal action against him. Station House Officer, Kishtwar, Suraj Pathania and Station House Officer, Kathua, Arvind Sambyal said the police had registered a case and initiated action.
