Mandate 2019: J&K choose pro-India politics as BJP tops the chart with 46.4% votes and rejected anti-India politics of Mehbooba, sent her to 5th position
   24-May-2019

This electoral exercise in India concluded on May 19 with the last and seventh phase of the election. Yesterday, India put its stamp on Narender Modi and he is elected for the post of Prime Minister for the second time. It is for the first time that a non-Congress party repeated the landslide victory in Indian political history. But the most conspicuous thing that happened in J&K was the rejection of hatred and divisive forces from Kashmir. PDP was relegated to 5th position in terms of voting percentage. Thanks to the hate politics of Mehbooba Mufti who spread venom on various occasion and said that no one will hold India tricolor Flag in Kashmir.
In Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), the northernmost state of India, BJP and National Conference (NC) managed to win three seats each. NC won all the three seats in Kashmir region whereas BJP got two seats from Jammu and one seat from Ladakh. As per the election commission voting percentage data, BJP got 46.4% in J&K, Congress 28.5%, others 12.2%, NC 7.9% and PDP 2.4%.

Kashmir rejected the hate politics of PDP

It is essential to note here that the Kashmir based political parties viz. NC and PDP threatened the country on different occasion. Especially, PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti gave speech on different occasions to divide India. Kashmir region did not give even a single Lok seat to PDP though the party won all the three seats in 2014. The result of the Kashmir region were:

• The Lok Sabha constituency wise data reveals that PDP performed poorly on different seats. Anantnag seat went to polls in three phases, where NC bagged the seat. On this Lok Sabha seat, Mehbooba Mufti got 24.44% votes whereas NC managed to get 32.17. Congress got 26.83% votes, BJP 8.19% and Sajjad lone led Peoples Conference (PC) got 1.32% votes.

• Baramulla was won by NC with 29.29% votes. PC got 22.65% votes, PDP 11.75%, Congress 7.58% and BJP 1.73%.

• In Srinagar, Farooq Abdullah bagged the seat with 57.14% votes. PDP got 19.64% votes, PC 15.4%, and BJP 2.48%. Congress did not field its candidate from this seat.

The results gave a clear indication that the politics of hate, division, and anti-India will not be tolerated even in Kashmir.

PC emerged as burgeoning party in Kashmir valley

Sajjad lone of Peoples Conference (PC) emerged as a dark horse and may become a game changer in Jammu and Kashmir state assembly elections. Its candidates have fared well in this election. Especially, they fared well on Baramulla and Srinagar seat, where the party was in second and third positions respectively.
