Worried over the future of dynasty politics, Lalu says Rahul Gandhi's adamancy to quit his post as Congress president is suicidal
   28-May-2019

RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav termed Rahul Gandhi’s stubbornness to leave the post of Congress president as "suicidal" for Congress party and the other social and political forces battling against Sangh Parivar. As per a report published in English paper ‘The Telegraph’, Lalu said, it means falling in the trap of BJP. He went on to state that the new leader of Congress would be painted as Rahul and Sonia Gandhi’s puppet therefore, Rahul shall not give such opportunity to the political detractors. He even asked the opposition parties to introspect for their political debacle. Analyzing the 2019 Lok Sabha election results, Lalu Prasad said that the opposition should admit that the resounding victory for the Modi government was a collective failure and should introspect on what went wrong. Referring to the fact that no clear PM candidate emerged from the opposition against Narendra Modi, Lalu Prasad said, the opposition could not choose one 'dulha' (groom) for their 'baraat' (wedding procession). He even supported the idea of projecting Rahul Gandhi as the Prime Minister candidate of Mahagathbandhan.

Lalu Prasad, the RJD leader, and former Bihar chief minister is a prisoner at Birsa Munda Central Jail and now undergoing treatment at a hospital in Ranchi.

It is a known fact that the Modi wave has decimated all the dynastic political parties and the future of many crowned princes are in danger. RJD, Congress, SP, etc. could not stop the BJP government. RJD could not win even a single seat in Bihar; SP, despite in coalition with its arch political rival BSP, could not perform well in UP, 63 out of 67 candidates of Congress lost its deposits in UP. This resounding defeat is clearly sending a ringing bell that the nation is drifting away from the dynasty politics in the country and thus jeopardizing the future of many crown princes. BJP got a thumping electoral victory with 303 seats in this Lok Sabha and PM Modi with no political lineage has once again proved his mettle.
