The Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee said today that she is not going to attend the swearing-in ceremony of PM Modi. She shared information in this regard on twitter. The decision was taken after she found that the families of the BJP workers killed during Panchayat and Lok Sabha elections are also going to attend the programme. Citing the media report in which it is alleged that “the BJP claiming 54 people have been murdered in political violence in Bengal”, the CM of West Bengal refused to attend the programme and said, “So, I am sorry, Narender Modi Ji, this has compelled me not to attend the ceremony”. Though in the same letter she mentioned that she was planning “to accept the Constitutional invitation and attend the oath-taking ceremony” but the media reports on the political murders in West Bengal changed her plans.
