Breaking her silence on the violence that took place at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence on May 13, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal, in an interview with ANI, revealed that Kejriwal's Personal Assistant, Bibhav Kumar, assaulted her. She stated that this incident occurred while Arvind Kejriwal himself was present at home.
Swati Maliwal revealed, "On May 13, at 9 AM, I went to meet Arvind Kejriwal at his residence. The staff seated me in the drawing room and told me that Arvind ji was at home and would come to meet me. While I was waiting for Kejriwal, his Personal Assistant Bibhav Kumar stormed in. I asked him what was happening and if Arvind ji was coming. As soon as I said this, he slapped me. He slapped me 7-8 times. When I tried to push him away, he grabbed my leg and dragged me, causing my head to hit the center table, and then he kicked me. I was crying loudly and asking for help, but no one came to help.
Maliwal stated that she does not know if Bibhav assaulted her on his own or under someone's instructions, and that the police are working on this and she is fully cooperating with them. Despite this, she is not giving anyone a clean chit because she was assaulted in the drawing room while Arvind Kejriwal was at home.
She said, 'I was screaming and shouting, but no one came. I did not think about what would happen to me, my career, or what these people would do to me. I only thought about what I have always told all women: to always stand by the truth and complain against the injustice done to you. So how could I not fight against the injustice done to me today?
