The BJP has released its list of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Three lists have been issued for the elections, which will be held in three phases.
Mehbooba Mufti’s PDP, Ghulam Nabi Azad’s DPAP, and Altaf Bukhari’s Apni party have also released their candidate lists. However, Congress and the National Conference, who are pre-poll alliance partners, have yet to announce their candidates.
It is noteworthy that the last elections in J&K were held in 2014, and now, after 10 years, elections are set to take place again.
National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah, who until recently said he would not contest the elections, is now set to run from the Ganderbal seat. This has been confirmed by senior leaders of his party.
