Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday praised the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for its 100 years of service to the nation. Speaking at the organisation’s centenary celebrations in New Delhi, he said the RSS has helped nurture and strengthen countless lives since its founding.

PM Modi said the RSS, established on Vijayadashami in 1925, reflects the festival’s message of the victory of good over evil and truth over falsehood. Since its founding, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has dedicated itself to nation-building. He also paid tribute to the RSS founder, Dr. K.B. Hedgewar, and congratulated millions of swayamsevaks for their dedication to national service.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister released a special Rs 100 commemorative coin and a postage stamp to mark the centenary. This coin has the National Emblem on one side, and on the other side, there is an image of Bharat Mata, seated on a lion in 'varad mudra', and swayamsevaks bowing down before her with dedication. While the stamp depicts RSS volunteers in the 1963 Republic Day Parade.
