Two key eyewitnesses on Saturday, 22 November, testified before a TADA court in Jammu that they clearly recognised jailed JKLF terrorist Yasin Malik as the main shooter of the 1990 attack on Indian Air Force personnel in Srinagar.

Both witnesses also identified three of Malik’s associates - Javed Mir, Muhammad Rafiq Pahloo and Shaukat Bakshi, as the main accused. They repeated their statements firmly during cross-examination.

Malik was the main shooter in the attack that left four IAF men dead, including Air Force officer Ravi Khanna, and injured 22 others.

The case relates to the attack on 25 January 1990 at Rawalpura on the outskirts of Srinagar. Investigators say Malik and his group carried out the attack to spread terror in the Kashmir Valley.

Malik, who is already serving a life sentence in Tihar Jail in a terror-funding case, appeared before the court through video conferencing. The court has fixed the next hearing for 29 November.
