Op Sindoor Over 60 Terrorists Targeted in BSF

The Border Security Force (BSF) has foiled major infiltration attempts from Pakistan in the Samba and Sunderbani Sectors of Jammu. With timely action and strong retaliation, BSF not only pushed back terrorists but also caused heavy damage on the Pakistan side.

BSF DIG SS Mand said,On 8th May 2025, our surveillance detected movement of 40-50 terrorists coming towards International border in Samba district. We did pre-emptive strikes. Soon after, Pakistan started firing on BSF BOPs, to which we retaliated well. Not only we foiled the big infiltration bid but also made the Pakistan side leave their posts. Inputs suggest that many terrorists, their supporters, Rangers and officers were harmed in the strike by us.”

Backing this, BSF DIG of Sunderbani Sector, Varinder Dutta, shared more details, saying, “On 8th May, we had reports that 18 to 20 terrorists were present at Looni terror launch pad of Pakistan across the border and they could infiltrate here. But we surprised them by launching an attack, causing heavy casualties.”

In the same operation, BSF women soldiers played a major role on the front lines. Speaking about Operation Sindoor, BSF IG Jammu Shashank Anand said, “BSF’s women personnel fought on forward duty posts during Operation Sindoor. Our brave women personnel, Assistant Commandant Neha Bhandari commanded a forward post, Constable Manjit Kaur, Constable Malkit Kaur, Constable Jyoti, Constable Sampa and Constable Swapna and others fought on forward posts against Pakistan during this operation.”

However, India also suffered losses. In a drone attack and shelling by Pakistan on BSF posts, Sub-Inspector Mohammad Imtiyaz, Constable Deepak Kumar, and Indian Army Naik Sunil Kumar lost their lives.
