Pahalgam Terror Attack

The Indian security forces have confirmed that all three terrorists involved in the deadly April 22 attack in Pahalgam, J&K, were Pakistani nationals and top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operatives. This conclusion was drawn after solid forensic, documentary, and eyewitness evidence was gathered during and after Operation Mahadev.

The terrorists were identified as:

Suleman Shah (code name Faizal Jatt): The main shooter and mastermind of the attack; ranked A++ in LeT.

Abu Hamza (code name Afghan): The second gunman; A- grade.

Yasi (code name Jibran): The third gunman who provided rear cover; also A- grade.

All three had been hiding in the Dachigam-Harwan forest area in Srinagar since the day of the attack. Not a single local Kashmiri was part of the actual shooting team.

Evidence That Nails Pakistani Link

Indian forces recovered:

Pakistani voter ID cards from Suleman Shah and Abu Hamza.

Smart-ID chips connected to Pakistan’s national database (NADRA), which contained fingerprints, face scans, and family records of all three terrorists with their village address, Chocolate wrappers from Karachi

GPS data from a Garmin device showing the same locations from which the terrorists fired during the attack.

How They Entered India

They crossed the Line of Control (LoC) near the Gurez sector, and their first radio message was intercepted while they were still on the Pakistani side.

After entering India, on April 21, they stayed overnight in a small seasonal hut near Hill Park, 2 km from Baisaran meadow. Two local helpers, Parvaiz and Bashir Ahmad Jothar, were later caught and admitted to giving them shelter and food.

What Happened on the Day of the Attack

On April 22, the three terrorists reached Baisaran meadow and opened fire on innocent civilians, killing 26 people, most of them Hindu tourists. They escaped into the forests afterward.

The AK-103 rifles used in the attack were later recovered, and blood samples from the scene matched the terrorists DNA.

DNA Match Confirmed Terrorists Identities : Blood stains found on a torn shirt at the Pahalgam attack site were tested and the mitochondrial DNA profiles matched exactly with the bodies of the three terrorists killed later in Dachigam forest. This scientifically proved that they were the same men who carried out the April 22 massacre.

How They Were Found and Killed

Between April and July, the trio used a satellite phone, which helped Indian forces track their exact location inside the Harwan forest.

On July 28, security forces successfully killed all three in an encounter.

LeT Handlers Exposed

The attack was planned and directed from Pakistan. The main handler was Sajid Saifullah Jatt, LeT’s operations chief for south Kashmir, based in Changa Manga near Lahore. His voice was matched with calls recorded on the satellite phone.

Rizwan Anees, LeT chief in Rawalakot, even visited the families of the killed terrorists in PoJK to offer funeral prayers without bodies, which was captured on video by locals. This footage has been added to India’s official dossier.

Amit Shah’s Statement

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, speaking in Parliament on July 29, confirmed that for the first time, Indian agencies had in hand official Pakistani documents proving the terrorists nationality. He said, “The evidence leaves no doubt- Pakistan was behind this cowardly massacre.”
