China’s Victory Day Parade 2025

Beijing recently hosted its biggest ever Victory Day Parade, grabbing the attention of the whole world. On the main stage, Chinese President Xi Jinping was joined by Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

The parade featured over 100 weapon systems and dozens of fighter jets, but 10 weapons in particular stood out, sending a clear message: China wants the world to recognise its growing military might.

Key Weapons Displayed

DF-5C Intercontinental Ballistic Missile: China’s longest range missile with over 13,000 km reach. It can carry 10 nuclear warheads at once, making it a serious threat to any continent, including the U.S.

DF-17 Hypersonic Missile: Flies at 10 times the speed of sound and constantly changes direction, making it impossible to stop with air defense systems.

DF-26D “Guam Killer”: A 5000 km range missile designed to hit the U.S. base in Guam. It can also target large warships.

CJ-1000 Hypersonic Cruise Missile: A new missile similar to India-Russia’s Brahmos, capable of hitting distant targets at very high speeds. Extremely difficult to intercept.

J-20S and J-35 Fighter Jets: China’s latest stealth jets. The J-20S can control drone squadrons, while the J-35 can take off from both aircraft carriers and land bases.

GJ-11 Stealth Combat Drone: A radar-evading “loyal wingman” drone that flies alongside fighter jets and launches surprise attacks.

HQ-29 Anti-Ballistic Interceptor: Works like America’s SM-3, capable of destroying enemy missiles in space and even satellites.

YJ-20 “Aircraft Carrier Killer”: A deadly anti-ship missile designed to strike U.S. and Indian aircraft carriers.

PHL-16 Rocket Launcher : A more powerful version of America’s HIMARS, capable of long-range precision strikes.

H-6J Long-Range Bomber: China’s naval bomber can be equipped with YJ-12 supersonic anti-ship missiles. Fired at a speed of Mach 3, these missiles can destroy enemy carriers or destroyers from a long distance

Other Deadly Additions

Apart from these, two new systems drew attention:

AJX-002 Underwater Drone – A “silent hunter” mini-submarine capable of carrying torpedoes, missiles, and even nuclear warheads. Faster and more advanced than America’s Orca underwater drone.

Robotic Dogs Force – AI-powered robots equipped with machine guns, rocket launchers, and night vision. They can perform stunts like backflips and fight in tough terrain. Much faster and deadlier than U.S. robotic dogs.

What It Means for India

Experts believe China’s show of strength was mainly aimed at the U.S. However, India cannot ignore it. China remains a close ally of Pakistan, and its growing military power could be used to pressure India as well.

Retired Lt. Gen. Sanjay Kulkarni said, “India must also develop high-tech weapons to be ready for any Chinese misadventure.”

The Bigger Picture

China’s Victory Day Parade 2025 was not just a military display but a strategic message. Beijing is determined to prove itself as a global power. With advanced weapons across land, sea, air, and even space, China is preparing to strengthen its dominance in the years to come.
