Jammu and Kashmir Police have initiated a preliminary enquiry after a video went viral on social media showing a Kashmiri cricketer wearing a helmet with a Palestinian logo while playing cricket in the KC Door area of Muthi (Jammu).

The cricketer has been identified as Furgan Ul Haq, son of Tajamul Hussain Bhat, a resident of Tangipuna village in Pulwama district.
Police said the enquiry has been started considering the sensitive nature of the incident and its possible impact on public order. The enquiry is being conducted under Section 173(3) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita at Police Station Domana.
According to police, the enquiry will verify the facts related to the video, understand the intent behind the act, check the background of the individual, and examine whether there are any possible linkages. Further action will be taken based on the findings of the enquiry.
