
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday greeted air warriors on the occasion of Indian Air Force’s 94th anniversary, saying the nation is proud of its air warriors and salutes their courage and commitment to protecting the skies.
“India is proud of our Air Warriors. On Air Force Day, we salute their courage and commitment to protect our skies,” Modi said in a post on X.
Indian Air Force Day is observed on October 8 to commemorate the establishment of the force and honour the sacrifices and service of its air warriors.
President Droupadi Murmu also extended greetings to air warriors, veterans and their families and praised the IAF for its professionalism, discipline and preparedness. In a post on X, she said:
“Greetings to all air warriors, veterans and their families on Air Force Day.
The Indian Air Force has rendered exemplary service to the nation, upholding high standards of professionalism, discipline and preparedness. Operation Sindoor demonstrated the courage, precision and operational preparedness of our air warriors in safeguarding the nation’s security. They have also extended valuable assistance during disasters and humanitarian crises. Their dedication remains a source of inspiration and pride for the nation. May the Indian Air Force continue to uphold its proud legacy of service and excellence”.
Addressing the Air Force Day celebrations at Hindon Air Base in Uttar Pradesh, Air Chief Marshal A P Singh said the IAF’s operational capabilities are growing in the right direction and that the force is alert and ready to meet any challenge.
In its 94 years, the Indian Air Force has grown into an exceptional, capable, network-centric and multi-domain force ranked among the finest in the world, he added.
