Srinagar in LeT terror funding case

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday conducted searches at four premises in Srinagar in connection with a terror funding case involving Umar Adil Dar and his associates, officials said.

Officials said the investigation pertains to allegations that Umar Adil Dar was working as an Over Ground Worker (OGW) for the banned terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and was actively involved in activities linked to the outfit.

Dar and his associates were earlier apprehended while allegedly carrying a substantial amount of cash and incriminating literature. Dar had also spent around four years in jail in connection with alleged separatist and anti-India activities in Jammu Kashmir.

Officials said the searches aim to trace suspected proceeds of crime, identify financial networks and funding channels, investigate links with handlers across the border and gather further evidence related to the alleged terror financing activities.
