Over 2 lakh devotees have paid obeisance at the holy shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi during the first six days of the ongoing Navratri festival, as the pilgrimage witnesses a massive surge in footfall.
 
 
The rush of pilgrims has increased because of the ongoing Chaitra Navratri festival, with thousands of devotees from across the country visiting Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine to seek blessings.
 
 
Registration for the pilgrimage to the holy shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji was temporarily suspended on the eve of March 21 due to a heavy inflow of devotees during the Navratri festival, but soon resumed by 4 AM on March 22.
 
 
Officials said the yatra is proceeding smoothly despite the heavy rush, with elaborate arrangements in place to manage the continuous inflow of pilgrims. A large number of devotees continue to arrive at Katra, showing strong faith and enthusiasm during the auspicious Navratri period.
 
 
The Shrine Board has strengthened arrangements like security, crowd control, cleanliness, and medical services to make the yatra safe and comfortable for everyone. Extra staff and security personnel have also been deployed to manage the heavy rush of pilgrims.
Authorities have urged devotees to tollow guidelines and cooperate with officials to ensure smooth movement along the yatra route.
