Jaish-e-Mohammed Chief Masood Azhar’s brother Mohammad Tahir Anwar, a key member of the terrorist group, has died in Pakistan under mysterious circumstances, with the exact cause of his death still unknown.

According to reports, Anwar had been associated with the terror outfit for many years and was actively involved in its activities. His death was confirmed through the group’s official channel, which also said that his funeral would take place at a mosque in Bahawalpur late Monday night.

So far, there has been no official statement explaining how he died, which has raised several questions.

Jaish-e-Mohammed is a Pakistan-based Islamist terror group and is designated as a terrorist organisation by the United Nations, United States, United Kingdom, and India. The group has been involved in several major terror attacks in India, including the 2001 Parliament attack, the 2016 Pathankot airbase attack, the Uri attack, and the 2019 Pulwama attack.

In the past, Indian forces have carried out strikes on Jaish targets in Pakistan, including its headquarters in Bahawalpur. During 'Operation Sindoor’, several members of Masood Azhar’s family were reportedly killed.

This operation was conducted in response to the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 people lost their lives. The attack was carried out by terrorists linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed.
