Terrorist Killed in Overnight Encounter in J&K’s Ganderbal; Operation Underway

One terrorist was killed in an overnight encounter with security forces in the Arahama area of Ganderbal district in Jammu and Kashmir, the Army said on Wednesday.

 

 

According to officials, the encounter broke out after security forces launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) on Tuesday night following specific inputs about suspicious movement in the area. As the forces closed in, the hiding terrorist opened fire, triggering a gunfight. During the exchange of fire, one terrorist was neutralised.

 

 

“During the night of 31 Mar 26, the cordon was tactically reorganised amidst the intermittent firing underway. Own troops effectively retaliated with calibrated response resulting in one terrorist eliminated. Operation is in progress”, Chinar Corps of Indian army said.
