Rajouri, J&K: The anti-terror operation codenamed ‘Operation Sheruwali’ entered its seventh day on Friday as security forces intensified searches in the dense forest areas of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir.

The joint cordon and search operation is being carried out by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the CRPF in the Gambhir Mughlan and Dorimal areas of the Manjakote sector.

The operation was launched on Saturday after security agencies received intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists hiding in the area. Since then, forces have been conducting continuous searches in difficult terrain and thick forests to track down the terrorists.

Officials said fresh assault teams were deployed on Friday to tighten the cordon and prevent the terrorists from escaping from the area. Security forces are using advanced surveillance equipment and are carrying out searches cautiously due to the challenging terrain.
