
The Indian Army on Sunday said that an exfiltration attempt was foiled in the Uri sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district following a joint operation conducted with the Jammu and Kashmir Police, during which three individuals were detained.
In a post on X, the Chinar Corps said:
“Exfiltration Bid Foiled by Chinar Warriors
Based on specific intelligence input, a joint search operation was launched by #IndianArmy and @JmuKmrPolice in general area of Uri, Baramulla.
Two individuals from Sopore apprehended by vigilant Chinar Warriors while attempting exfiltration in Uri Sector with inimical intent alongwith their accomplice guide. Further probe underway.”
According to the Army, the operation was launched on the basis of specific intelligence inputs regarding suspicious movement in the area. During the search operation, two individuals from Sopore were apprehended while allegedly attempting to exfiltrate through the Uri sector with inimical intent. Their accomplice, who was acting as a guide, was also detained. Further investigation is underway.
