Srinagar, J&K: The Association of Terror Victims in Kashmir (ATVK) held a peaceful protest at Ghanta Ghar in Lal Chowk, Srinagar, on Friday, seeking justice for civilians who were reportedly killed during firing by Pakistani security forces in Pakistan-Occupied Jammu Kashmir (POJK), particularly in Rawalakot.

The protesters expressed concern over the reported loss of civilian lives and injuries during the ongoing unrest in the region. They urged the international community and human rights organisations to take note of the situation and ensure accountability for those responsible.

According to reports, more than 30 people have been killed and nearly 200 others injured in clashes between protesters and Pakistani security forces. The tensions reportedly escalated after authorities banned the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), a civil society group that had been leading protests over rising economic difficulties, governance concerns, and demands for political rights in POJK.

Members of ATVK said that the voices of the people in POJK should be heard and called for justice for the victims and their families. The demonstration concluded peacefully.
