DRDO successfully tests indigenous Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on Monday successfully carried out the flight test of the indigenously developed Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile (LRLACM) from the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha.

According to the Ministry of Defence, the missile successfully met all its mission objectives during the test. The trial validated several critical technologies and demonstrated India’s growing capability to carry out long-range precision strikes.

The ministry said the missile has been developed by DRDO with significant participation from Indian industries, with all major subsystems designed and built within the country. The successful test marks an important milestone in strengthening India’s indigenous defence capabilities.

Officials said the achievement is in line with the government’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) and reflects the country’s continued progress towards building a stronger national defence ecosystem.
