J&K: Police arrest another terror associate for aiding terrorists in Kishtwar

Jammu Kashmir Police on Tuesday arrested another alleged terror associate in Kishtwar district for providing support to foreign terrorists. The accused has been booked in a case registered at Police Station Chatroo under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), and the Arms Act. Police said the investigation is ongoing to identify and dismantle the entire support network.

 

"In a significant breakthrough on anti-national elements, Jammu and Kashmir Police has arrested key accused involved in providing support to Foreign terrorists in Chatroo, Kishtwar, in connection with the investigation of FIR No. 03/2026 registered at Police Station Chatroo under Sections 61(2), 109, 147, 148 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS); Sections 13, 16, 18, 19 & 20 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA); and Sections 7/27 of the Arms Act.

 

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishtwar, Sh. Naresh Singh (JKPS), while sharing details of the case, stated that following meticulous investigation and targeted operations, police arrested Mohd Rafiq Naik, S/o Ghulam Ali Naik, R/o Dwather, Singhpur, for his alleged involvement in facilitating terrorists.

 

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused was acting as the main handler of the Saifullah Group in the Chatroo area and had allegedly provided active assistance to the foreign terrorist group operating in the region.

 

His arrest marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the full extent of his involvement, network, and links with the foreign terrorist group.

 

Earlier, police had arrested Muneer Ahmed and Mashkoor Ahmed, both residents of Chatroo, Kishtwar, for their alleged involvement in facilitating terrorists.

 

The investigation is continuing to identify and dismantle the entire support network, and all individuals found involved will be brought to justice through due process of law”, Kishtwar Police said.
