J&K: Policeman Martyred in Terror Attack in Anantnag; TRF Claims Responsibility

A Jammu Kashmir Policeman was martyred after terrorists opened fire on a police party in Anantnag district on Wednesday.

 

The attack took place around 12:30 pm at Lal Chowk in Anantnag. Head Constable Ashiq Hussain, who was deployed on Shri Amarnath Yatra security duty, was critically injured in the firing and rushed to Government Medical College Hospital in Anantnag.

 

Doctors declared him dead on arrival.

 

Following the attack, security forces immediately cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to trace the terrorists involved.

 

According to reports, The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy outfit of Lashkar-e-Taiba, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
