J&K Police attaches properties of five Pakistan based LeT terrorists; Secures proclamation against top LeT operative Mohd Qasim

Director General of J&K Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat has ordered the attachment of properties belonging to five notorious terrorists operating from Pakistan, the Jammu and Kashmir Police said in a statement on Thursday.
According to J&K Police, the terrorists belong to the jurisdictions of Police Station Mahore and Police Station Chassana in Reasi district. They had gone missing between 1991 and 2003 and later exfiltrated to Pakistan, where they received arms and ammunition training to wage war against India and disrupt peace and tranquillity in Jammu and Kashmir.
Police said the individuals are presently working for the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) from across the border and are involved in supplying arms, ammunition and funds to promote terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. They are also accused of instigating and radicalising local youth to participate in terror-related activities.
Based on the information received, Police Station Mahore registered FIR No. 70/2024 under Sections 61(2), 148 and 149 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Sections 2 and 3 of the Explosive Substances Act, and Sections 13, 18, 20 and 38 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Investigation was subsequently taken up.
During the investigation, witness statements and other evidence established the involvement of five Pakistan based terrorists- Alaf Din, Ghulam Mohammad alias Gamma, Mohammad Ashraf, Shabir Ahmad, and Bhar Din- all natives of the Mahore area in Reasi district.
The investigation further revealed that the accused terrorists were attempting to sell their landed properties, and the proceeds of such sales were intended to finance and further terrorist activities. Acting on these findings, the DGP ordered the attachment of their properties to prevent the assets from being used for terror funding, the police said.
In a related development, J&K Police said it has also secured proclamation proceedings against Mohd Qasim, a top Lashkar-e-Taiba operative currently based in Pakistan. His property had already been attached in March 2026, police added.
