Jammu Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday chaired a high-level security review meeting to assess the overall security situation across the Union Territory. The meeting comes in the wake of back to back terrorist attacks in the Kashmir Valley that have raised fresh security concerns.
“Today, chaired a high-level review meeting on the security situation across J&K UT with the Chief Secretary, DGP, Principal Secretary, Home, ADGP CID, senior police and civil administration officers, DCs and SSPs”, J&K LG Manoj Sinha said on X.
The review meeting follows the killing of two non-local workers from Chhattisgarh, who were shot dead by terrorists in the Kellam area of Kulgam district on Friday evening.
Earlier, on July 22, police constable Ashiq Hussain, who was deployed for Shri Amarnath Yatra duty, was shot dead by terrorists in Anantnag district. The Resistance Front (TRF), a shadow outfit of Lashkar-e-Taiba, had claimed responsibility for the attack.
