J&K: Joint search operation launched in Poonch after suspicious movement

A joint search operation has been launched in the Mendhar sector of Jammu Kashmir’s Poonch district after suspicious movement was noticed near an under construction tunnel, officials said, PTI reported.

 

A security guard deployed at the construction site noticed the movement and fired three to four rounds as a precautionary measure. No loss of life or damage to property has been reported so far, officials said.

 

Following the incident, personnel from the police, Special Operations Group (SOG) and CRPF launched a search operation around 6 am in the forest areas of Bhatadurian, Sangiot and adjoining areas.
