The State Investigation Agency (SIA) on Wednesday conducted searches at nine locations across Jammu and Kashmir in connection with the 1990 double-murder case of Kashmiri Hindu writer Sarwanand Kaul Premi and his son, Virendra Kaul.
 
 
The case is related to FIR No. 45/1990, registered at Police Station Dooru in Anantnag, and is now being investigated by the SIA.
 
 
 
 
Officials said the searches were carried out at the premises of suspects and other locations believed to be linked to the case. As per reports, SIA teams also conducted searches in Jammu, including at Shahbaz Colony.
 
On April 30, 1990, Sarwanand Kaul Premi and his son were abducted by terrorists from their home. Their bodies were later found hanging from a tree.
  
 
 
 
Following the case of nurse Sarla Bhatt, this case has also been brought back under active investigation after more than three decades, as authorities continue to investigate killings of Kashmiri Hindus during the 1990s.
