
Jammu: J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday flagged off the first batch of the Baba Budha Amarnath Ji Yatra from the Jammu Base Camp.
After performing a pooja, Sinha flagged off the pilgrims from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas around 6.30 am for the 230-km journey to Poonch, officials said.
Baba Budha Amarnath Ji is located in Poonch district of Jammu Kashmir. A large number of pilgrims from different parts of the country have reached the Jammu Base Camp to take part in the pilgrimage.
The 12-day annual Shri Budha Amarnath Yatra 2026 to the ancient Baba Budha Amarnath Temple in Mandi tehsil of Poonch district will continue till August 28. Authorities have enforced strict multi-tier security and surveillance across Poonch, Rajouri, and transit routes.
The yatra is being coordinated by the J&K Administration in coordination with the VHP and Bajrang Dal. Adequate security arrangements have been put in place for the pilgrimage.
