J&K: Suspect held in Pulwama; Hand Grenade, Anti-National Posters Recovered

Pulwama, Aug 3: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday arrested a suspect during a joint naka checking with 44 Rashtriya Rifles (Army) and 183 Battalion of the CRPF in Pulwama district and recovered one hand grenade, three anti-national posters, and a mobile phone from his possession.
 
 
 
According to police, the joint naka was established on the Drabgam–Pachar road. During checking, a suspicious person approaching from Drabgam towards Pachar attempted to flee after noticing the naka. However, the naka party chased and apprehended him near the Fruit Mandi on Pachar Road.
 
 
The accused has been identified as Tousef Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Hameed Dar, a resident of Drabgam Payeen.
 
 
Police said an FIR (No. 107/2026) has been registered at Police Station Rajpora under Sections 7/25 of the Arms Act and Sections 13, 18, 23 and 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Investigation has been taken up to ascertain the source of the recovered material and identify any further linkages.
