More than 4.70 lakh devotees from across the country have so far visited the Holy Cave Shrine during the ongoing annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra in Jammu Kashmir.
The pilgrimage began on July 3 and continues under a multi-layered security arrangement. Every day, thousands of devotees are undertaking the sacred journey.
At present, the Yatra is being conducted only through the Baltal route, as the traditional Pahalgam route remains closed for maintenance work. Authorities have put in place extensive arrangements to ensure the safety, security and smooth movement of pilgrims.
The Yatra is scheduled to conclude on August 28 coinciding with Raksha Bandhan. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that the pilgrimage is progressing in a safe, secure and well organised manner, with all necessary facilities being provided to the devotees.
