India on Thursday successfully test fired the indigenously developed medium-range ballistic missile (MRBM) Agni-4 from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur in Odisha. The Ministry of Defence said the launch validated all operational and technical parameters. The test was conducted under the aegis of the Strategic Forces Command.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh tweeted, “The Strategic Forces Command and DRDO carried out successful launch of MRBM Agni-4 from Integrated Test Range, Odisha on 6th August 2026. I congratulate SFC and DRDO for this textbook mission launch which reaffirmed India’s commitment to defend the Nation with state of the art technologies.”
Agni-4 is an indigenously developed medium-range ballistic missile capable of carrying both conventional and nuclear payloads. With a strike range of around 4,000 kilometres, it is equipped with advanced navigation and guidance systems for high accuracy.
