J&K Assembly Adjourned Amid Ruckus Over NHM Employees’ Issues

Srinagar, September 21: The Jammu Kashmir Legislative Assembly was adjourned on Monday amid a ruckus on the first day of the seven-day Autumn Session. The House will meet again on Tuesday morning.

 

 

The proceedings witnessed noisy scenes after BJP leaders raised the issues of National Health Mission (NHM) employees. BJP members demanded that the concerns of NHM employees be addressed and raised the issue during the Assembly proceedings.

 

NHM employees have been protesting across Jammu Kashmir, demanding a job policy, job security, retirement benefits, social security, EPF coverage and the settlement of other pending issues.

 

The protests and disruptions led to the adjournment of the House for the day. The Autumn Session will resume on Tuesday morning.
