India strongly condemns Pakistan Airstrikes on Afghanistan, Calls them against regional peace and security

New Delhi: India has strongly condemned the airstrikes carried out by Pakistan on Afghanistan’s Kunar and Paktika provinces, in which several civilians were killed and many were reportedly injured. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal expressed condolences over the deaths.

 

 

 

India said such instances of aggression against a sovereign neighbour go against regional peace and security. It also reaffirmed its strong and steadfast support for Afghanistan’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

 

India further expressed its support for the welfare and well-being of the Afghan people.

 

Speaking on the issue, MEA official spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “We strongly condemn the attacks from Pakistan, the airstrikes which were launched on Afghanistan in their Kunar and Paktika provinces. In these airstrikes, several civilians have been killed. We deeply offer our condolences on the precious lives lost. 

 

We also hope that those who have been injured in this attack recover well and recover soon. Such instances of aggression against a sovereign neighbour are something that go against regional peace and security. It reshapes regional peace and security, and it is yet another occasion of aggression from the Pakistani side. We also reaffirm our strong, steadfast support for Afghanistan, for its independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, as also for the welfare and well-being of its people.”
