India Rejects OIC’s J&K References, Questions Its Credibility; ‘No Amount of Propaganda Can Change Reality’

New Delhi: India has strongly rejected the unwarranted and factually incorrect references made to the country in the Joint Communique of the OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir, making it clear that Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are integral and inalienable parts of India and that no external organisation has any locus standi to comment on matters strictly internal to the country.

  

India also hit out at Pakistan, saying it should address the continuing threat of terrorism emanating from territories under its control instead of using the OIC to push its fabricated and politically motivated narratives.

 

India also questioned the credibility of the OIC, saying that its repeated endorsement of politically motivated narratives raises serious questions over the organisation’s credibility and its approach to matters that fall within India’s internal affairs.

 

 

 

 

 

The OIC has no locus standi to pronounce on matters that are strictly internal to India. The entire Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh are integral and inalienable part of India, and no amount of repetition of politically motivated propaganda can change this reality. Repeated endorsement of such motivated narratives only raises serious questions on the credibility of OIC.

 

Instead of offering a platform to Pakistan to peddle its fabricated and motivated propaganda, OIC will be better advised to counsel Pakistan, which has a well-documented record of supporting and sponsoring terrorism, to look inwards and address the continuing threat of terrorism emanating from territories under its control.''

 

India’s statement came after the OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir met on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York, where it raised the Kashmir issue.
