Four CISF Personnel Killed in Firing by Colleague in J&K’s Kathua

J&K: Four Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel were shot dead by a 2009-batch Head Constable of the force following a verbal altercation over an issue at the Sewa-II Hydroelectric Project in Kathua, officials said. The incident took place around 7 pm on Tuesday.
The deceased personnel have been identified as Assistant Commandant Ankit Kumar Pandey, Constable Rafiq Ahmed, Constable Sandeep Kumar and Sub-Inspector Lakshman Singh.
The injured personnel were initially taken to the NHPC Hospital, where all four later succumbed to their injuries. The accused Head Constable has been handed over to the police, while the CISF is setting up an internal inquiry into the incident, officials said.
The circumstances that led to the altercation and subsequent firing are under investigation. Further details, including the sequence of events and the weapon used, are awaited, officials said.
