Ex-Air Marshal Jitendra Mishra Named First CEO of Ayodhya Shri Ram Temple Trust

Ayodhya: Air Marshal (retd) Jitendra Mishra, who headed the Western Air Command during Operation Sindoor, has been appointed as the first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, officials said on Wednesday. 

  

The Trust oversees the management and operations of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

 

Mishra, 62, was selected from a shortlist of three candidates after the Trust received 5,585 applications for the post.

 

His appointment comes as part of governance reforms aimed at strengthening the administration and improving transparency in the functioning of the Trust.

 

The appointment is also significant as it is the first time that a full-time CEO has been appointed to manage the Trust’s affairs.

 

The move comes amid scrutiny over the Trust’s functioning following a controversy surrounding the alleged embezzlement of temple donations. The controversy had led to the arrest of eight people and the resignation of Champat Rai as general secretary.

 

Mishra’s experience as a senior Air Force officer is expected to bring a more structured approach to the administration and management of the temple Trust.
